Rocks are extremely important for many reasons.  One of the least remembered reasons for rock’s importance is every house needs rocks in the basement.  Putting rocks in your basement as ballast keeps your house from flipping upside down.  This is particularly important if you live in a flood plane, or the water table raises too high from heavy rains.
